The feeder to the Prädikatswanderweg: You start the hike in Bad Kötzting below the imposing fortified church. You leave the town on the flood embankment against the course of the Weißer Regen river. Past romantic river meanders and across extensive meadows, the trail first takes you to the former ironworks site of Sperlhammer with its impressive manor house. After crossing the railroad line and the main road, a gentle ascent begins through the forest to the idyllically situated farmstead "Auf der Waid". A wonderful panoramic view of the town of Bad Kötzting and the Regental valley invites you to linger. The ascent continues on rooty paths to the village of Reitenberg, where you finally reach the entry point to the main route of the Goldsteig and the Arber High Tour.
