Radweg Weiding-Gleißenberg

The adjacent cycle path "Weiding-Gleißenberg" offers a detour to the "Bavarian Merano" Gleißenberg. You can cycle from the center of Weiding in the direction of Dalking, along the CHA9 district road or from Weiding town hall via Zelz and the Dalking sports field to Döbersing (children's playground) and from there along the CHA9 district road past the "Müller" construction company on the right on a gravel field path in the direction of Rußmühle. The newly renovated Rußmühlstraße leads directly up to the historic "Bavarian Merano", which is well known for its mild climate and many sunny days. Alternatively, you can also cycle past the Gleißenberg sewage treatment plant in the direction of Ried in the Rußmühle area and head for "Bavarian Merano" via a cycle path along the CHA9 district road. A kind of circular route for the outward and return journey. In Gleißenberg itself, you can then take a break in the beautiful "Meranpark" on Moosweg (turn right at the entrance to the village) with seating, a Kneipp pool and an arm pool for refreshment, a children's playground and a water playground, as well as a historic wooden bowling alley and an OGV picking garden for children and adults. There is also a public toilet. You can also head for the leisure center at the sports facilities and choose an Italian restaurant as a stopover, which also offers take-away food and ice cream. From there, cross-border mountain bike tours are also possible and there are wonderful hiking trails leading towards the Gibacht activity center or towards Geigant or Furth im Wald. An extension of the cycle tour is therefore possible at any time or you can simply start your excursion from there in different directions. There are plenty of parking spaces "at the sports field". The municipality of Gleißenberg has an area of over 40,000 square meters here, which is gradually being converted into a meeting point for footballers, tennis players, cyclists and mountain bikers from the entire region and is already being used by many guests from near and far. There is also an e-bike charging station at the town hall forecourt.
