This challenging winter hike starts at the idyllically situated Simmereinöde. From there, the trail leads steadily uphill along the well-trodden path on the Ar6 hiking trail. After approx. 1 ½ hours, you reach the Steinbühler Gesenke, where you can admire the fantastic view of the Regental valley. You are now on the "Goldsteig" quality hiking trail and European long-distance hiking trail (green triangle). The path continues to the right to the Kötztinger Hütte (limited opening hours in winter!) for a cozy stop. The way back is via the same route.
