Gutshof Hötzing

From the starting point in Schorndorf, take the main road towards Knöbling. At the end of the village, we keep left and turn into Orleitenweg. A short distance after crossing the wooden bridge at the Rothbach stream, we meet the Sd5 hiking trail, which we follow to the Hötzing estate. Here we can stop for refreshments in the beautiful beer garden with an old wooden bowling alley. We continue via the Stations of the Cross to the forest chapel. Here the Sd2 hiking trail branches off from the Sd5. We continue over the Kühberg in the direction of state road 2146, taking care when crossing. Following the accompanying path together with the Sd3, we come to Sandberg. Shortly before Thierling, a field path offers a wonderful view of Schorndorf and the surrounding area. The village of Thierlstein, the starting point, is also within sight and soon reached on foot. A detour to the Kalvarienberg is also possible via the Sd1 and Sd3. In Thierling, you can stop for refreshments at the "Türlinger" restaurant before returning to Schorndorf via Stegmühle. Here there is another opportunity to round off the hike in the Baumgartner inn or in a café.
