Zum Roten Kreuz

The starting point for this hike is the village square in Rittsteig. After the church, we follow Oberkaltenhofstraße until it turns right and take the mountain path that leads us to Neurittsteig. In Neurittsteig we cross the tarred road, walk across the hiking parking lot to the wooden log cabin of the WSV Rittsteig, after this we turn left into the small tarred road, which we follow to the next property. After this property, we turn left and follow hiking trails Nk23, Nk24 and Nk25 for approx. 1.5 km. At the fork, we continue right to the rest area at the Red Cross and turn right here to Fahrenberg. Continue on rustic forest paths along a ridge into a rocky region with a steep descent to Absetz and the Tanneneck inn. Hiking trail connection to Nk9 to Kolmstein or Nk13 to Mais. Absetz is a stop on the VLC-RBO bus route 590.
