Gibachtweg

This hiking trail ends at the Gibacht mountain inn, 845 m above sea level. First, the path turns towards Waldmünchen at the entrance to the village and then turns right immediately at the end of the village. Passing the municipal recycling center, the trail then turns left along the Hüttenbach stream towards Kesselhütte. On the corridor road to Burgstall, the hiker reaches the edge of the forest and follows the forest path up to Burgstallstraße, which runs at right angles. Cross the road and continue left past the Burgstall summit to the sandy plain with the Baumfelsbrunnen fountain at 655 m, where you can take a detour to the Schrazelhöhle cave at Hinterer Burgstall. A stony lane leads up via a hiking parking lot to Althütte, where you can stop for refreshments at the Bergstüberl. The route then joins the "Goldsteig" quality hiking trail on the steep road up to the catered Gibacht mountain inn with the Wenzel glass gallery. Here the hiker also has a connection to the "Drei-Wappen" tourist border crossing to the Czech Republic, just a few meters away.
