South of the Neckar is the area of the Little Odenwald, where the small pilgrimage church is hidden in the forest on the "Hebart", high above the Stolzeneck ruins.
From the parking lot, first follow the "red triangle" over the bridge to the southern bank of the Neckar. From here, the trail leads uphill via the "Bösen Berg", the "Sommerhälde" and the "Alte Suhl" to the church. After a rest, nature park trail no. 4 takes hikers to the Steinernes Kreuz, where the L 590 must be crossed. Now follow the path with the "yellow V" for a short distance, then turn right onto path no. 2, which meets the "blue cross" markings for around 1.2 km. After a right turn, this sign takes you downhill through the "Rüdenwald" forest and down the "Wimmersbacher Steige" via Neckarwimmersbach to the starting point in Eberbach.
Info about the church: South of the Neckar is the area of the Little Odenwald, where the small pilgrimage church is hidden in the middle of the forest on the "Hebart", high above the ruins of Stolzeneck. The Heiligkreuzkirchlein was built in 1516 as a chapel with late Gothic windows. The little church was used for the veneration of the Holy Cross and was at times a place of pilgrimage nearby.
