Monastery Pond Trail

We start at the parking lot at the Luitpoldlinde and follow an access road uphill to a very beautiful view over the northern Starnberg Lake. From there we turn onto the Höhenrieder Weg to the NW and pass through a varied landscape of forests and marshy meadows, first passing the Haussatter Weiher and then the Auweiher. Shortly after, we pass under the railway line and head south to Gallaweiher. After crossing the county road WM28, we reach the Neusee at its southern end via forest paths and trails. We then reach the Hapberg district via open access roads, and from here we can take a short detour to the Pestkapelle. Passing the sports grounds and industrial area, we cross the railway line (footpath to the station) and the state road, and hike along the Stiftungspark and Grundweiher back to the monastery courtyard at the starting point.
