Rundweg Grenztal über Knock in Obernsees

The Rundweg Grenztal is signposted with the "red dot" marker. It is also provided with signposts. The first line shows the nearest destination and the second line always shows the name of the trail with a direction arrow and marker.

The Grenztal circular trail is approx. 4.5 km long. It is possible to hike via the Knock with the television transmitter and the pile-dwelling hut. This section is signposted with the "green ring" marker, among others.

The circular route is signposted in both directions. We recommend walking the trail in the direction described.

Trail description
The start and finish of this circular trail is at the Zum Knock/Zum Grenztal road junction in Obernsees with a view of the thermal baths and the Wachstein. You hike through the beautiful Grenztal and climb up the Winterleite to the Schönfelder Höhe. There you will find a bench to rest on. From here you have a wonderful view of the landscape. Follow the markings and you will reach signposts. At the second signpost, you can follow the path in a straight line or turn left - the larger ring - over the Knock to the television transmitter and then to the Knockhütte.

The Knockhütte is open on Sundays and public holidays. Make sure you go up to the platform. Here you have a wonderful distant view of the Neubürg, the Wachstein and the Burgstall. Follow the green ring markings and you will reach the red ring markings again. From there you reach the Schützenhaus, turn left and come to the village of Obernsees.

Turn right into the road and after approx. 100 m turn right up the mountain road. After a short distance you have a wonderful view of Obernsees with the St. Jakob church and the baroque garden. Continue along the road and you will come to the Grenztal road. Keep right here and you will return to your starting point.
