Description by the author

From historic Landsberg, the trail leads via Epfach with its Roman museum and Kinsau up to the Lechleite and reveals a magnificent view of the Alpine chain before continuing via Hohenfurch to Schwalbenstein and Schongau with its medieval old town on a Lechumlaufberg. The next highlight along the way is the Litzauer Schleife, an originally preserved Lech loop. The route continues along the Urspringer Lech reservoir to Lechbruck. The trail now gently winds its way south through the hilly landscape to Roßhaupten and continues along the shores of Lake Forggensee with wonderful views of the Ammergau and Tannheim mountains to Füssen, where you finally reach the destination of the tour, the Lech Falls.

The LechErlebnisWeg can be easily hiked in 5 daily stages:

1st stage: From Landsberg to Epfach
Walking time approx. 5 ¼ - 6 hours (21 km)

2nd stage: From Epfach to Schongau
Walking time approx. 4 - 5 hours (16 km)

3rd stage: From Schongau to Lechbruck
Walking time about 5 ½ - 6 ½ hours (22 km)

4th stage: From Lechbruck to Roßhaupten
Walking time about 3 ½ - 4 hours (14 km)

5. Stage: From Roßhaupten to Füssen
Walking time approx. 3 ½ - 4 hours (14 km)

Author's tip: New natural experiences await hikers around every bend in the river, from the natural course of the river to Lake Forggensee, one of the largest reservoirs in Upper Bavaria.
