From the starting point of the tour, the historic market square in Steingaden, visitors can enjoy an impressive view of the Welfenmünster. The trail leads past the monastery garden through the town to the sawmill. This is where the idyllic footpath along the Mühlbach stream begins. Parallel to the main road, the route now climbs steadily southwards until it turns west at Biberschwöll. After a short section on indistinct, barely recognizable path tracks, you cross the culturally and historically significant dam at Viehweidsee. From Reitersau, follow the slightly downhill road back to Steingaden.

In Steingaden, you should definitely visit the Welfenmünster!
