Winterwanderung - Römer und Welfen am Lech

Initially along the Lech, the varied route soon leads to the Schlossberg. There, a monument points to the former Welfenburg castle. The onward route over the Kalvarienberg is a first-class panoramic route - it leads directly towards the Alpine chain. At the southernmost point of the route, you pass the Villa Rustica. The Roman bathhouse with its herbal teaching garden is well worth a stop! The trail finally leads from the east to the west side of the Lech via the imposing Lechtal bridge. A particularly scenic section through the Heidewiese recreation area at the Schongauer Alm awaits hikers here. High above the Lech, the trail leads back towards Dornau.

Author's tip: A visit to the Villa Rustica is well worth it!
