Way description:

Starting point is the Wildsteig parking lot opposite the "Bäck". On the Riedstraße, we cross the Wildsteig local road, past the Bäck store, steeply uphill to the left and past the Strauß inn. At the fork in the road, continue left (like the König-Ludwig-Weg), straight on at the next crossroads, past the Ahornbaum natural monument, until we have passed the underpass at the end of Wildsteig-Ried.
We then follow the meadow path to the right above the state road and turn left at the "Schmieds Stadl" hiking parking lot onto a well-surfaced gravel path. Here you can look out over the Schwaigsee lake far into Werdenfelser Land. We follow the path first between meadows and then into the moorland of the Schlossberg felt. Peat was once cut here. After a small wood, the path leads us in a wide arc over two crossroads and the "Mittlerer Filzweg" junction straight ahead through a particularly varied raised bog landscape with birch and mountain pine, heather, cranberry and blueberry carpets past wet meadow biotopes with rare plants (arnica irises, bulrushes) to Wildsteig-Schlossberg. At the junction with the tarred road, turn left and walk downhill past Café Schlossberg to the main road. After the road underpass, follow a footpath on the right along the state road until you return to the starting parking lot at the "Bäck" on the left.
