Römer und Welfen am Lech - Peiting

From the main square in Peiting, follow the signs for "Schützenhaus" and after a few minutes' walk you will reach the starting point of the tour on the Peiting forest adventure trail. The exciting circular trail is a special experience, especially for children. Back on the main trail, the Calvary is crossed. Hikers can enjoy a magnificent mountain panorama. On the way south, the trail leads past the Villa Rustica. It is worth visiting the ancient Roman bathhouse with its herbal teaching garden. The trail finally leads from the east to the west side of the Lech via the imposing Lechtal bridge. Through the beautiful Heidewiese recreation area, the route finally leads back - high above the Lech - towards Dornau. From there to the Schlossberg. A memorial here commemorates the former Welfenburg castle. A short time later, the route climbs steeply uphill and downhill back to the Kalvarienberg and from there to Peiting's main square, the end point of the tour.

Refreshments available at the Schongau Lido with boat hire. Be sure to plan enough time for the forest adventure trail and a visit to the Villa Rustica! There are a large number of inns and cafés around the main square in Peiting.
