We start the circular route at the train station and reach the pond in Froschgrüner Park on the footpath along the Selbitz. After the old people's home in Froschgrün, we first follow the Griesbacher Weg. We turn right (signpost!) and soon turn left uphill to the Dr. Köhl stone in an open space with a seating area. We should pause for a while at this idyllic quiet spot.
The forest path continues until we reach a crossroads where we meet the "Ozünderweg" (green "O"). A detour (50 m to the right) is recommended here because of the view. After returning, we continue along our forest path and cross the district road. The hiking route leads us slightly downhill in the forest into a small valley floor of the Siegelbach stream. Before reaching the stream, it is worth taking a short detour to the left to the "Schäferstein" (shepherd's stone), which is shrouded in legend.
The source area of the Siegelbach (1483 Siechenbach, 1502 Sichen-bechlein) lies in the (former) Schwarze Wiese. It flows through a charming forest valley and flows into the Selbitz near Froschgrün. The old names probably refer to its temporary lack of water (drying up), which is why a mill had to be abandoned.
In the forest, slightly uphill, we follow natural paths past the water house to a pond, where we come across a road. It leads us briefly but quite steeply uphill to the right through the forest. It then runs fairly level through the woodland into the open. If we look to the right, we can see the Black Pond not far away. We walk through the fields and soon reach the village center of Rodesgrün with the village pond on the hill.
We follow the road towards Naila to the right. Then we turn right towards the soccer pitch and walk straight on past the back gate into the forest. We walk on pleasant forest paths in a straight main direction through changing forest formations to the Naila natural cemetery, which we cross.
At the place of worship, we keep left and reach a bench with a beautiful view of Naila. To the left of the bench, the path leads back into the Selbitztal valley, where we cross the tracks and return to the starting point at the train station. </p
