Krouha-Weg OS 13

We leave the town at the parking lot at the cemetery together with the FrankenwaldSteigla Rund ums Lehstental on the Baiergrüner Weg, walk along the cemetery in the direction of Galgenberg and turn sharp left before the ascent to the Galgenberg. The route then follows a pleasant field path along a meadow with an unobstructed view of the beautiful landscape of the "Grees" and Kleinschwarzenbach.

The route continues along a small conservation area so that the small mountain town of Schauenstein can be seen directly in front of us. We turn left at a row of trees and then continue downhill, keeping to the right. We now continue along a tarmac farm track, pass the ponds of the Helmbrechts fishing club and follow the museum trail to the Flurberg forest. We walk uphill through the forest, reach an open area near the top and reach the open countryside again at the edge of the forest and downhill through the forest. As we now return to the forest in a wide left-hand bend, we are accompanied by charming views of a beautifully landscaped area and part of Schauenstein.

The forest and the Lehstenberg now welcome us. We walk straight ahead, then keeping to the right downhill, before turning sharply right uphill on a forest path. The next forest path, which we soon come to, leads us to the right through the forest into the open countryside. We are greeted by a beautiful view of the Galgenberg, the Kirchberg and the Grönbach valley. In the foreground: Kleinschwarzenbach and the beautiful surrounding countryside. If we continue along the field path, we soon come to the "Krouha" in Kleinschwarzenbach with beautiful views of the surrounding countryside, finally on the road coming from Baiergrün. As we walk along the local road through the village to the main road, we pass time-honored weavers' cottages, which remind us of the long-gone heyday of hand weaving in the "Handweber-Frankenwald" (according to O. Knopf).

In Kleinschwarzenbach, we leave the main road onto the path "zum Sportplatz" and continue straight ahead until we reach it. After the sports field, our route leads to Helmbrechts. Via Lehenstener Weg and Stadelbergweg, we reach Theodor-Heuss-Straße, which we follow for approx. 200 m before turning left. We soon reach the Kirchberg.

On the way, we are accompanied by magnificent views, which become increasingly impressive as we ascend. Finally, we turn right and walk through the park with various tree species up to the 678 m high, wooded hilltop of the Kirchberg, Helmbrechts' local mountain with the Kirchberg tower and the well-tended grounds.

The tower was built in 1895 on the site of a margravial guard tower from 1498. In addition to the Herman Löns memorial stone, the Georg Seidel fountain (detour) honors the former mayor and creator of this complex. The Helmbrechts head teacher was born in 1863, was a member of the municipal council and town council from 1897 to 1925, then 2nd mayor from 1925 to 1929 and 1st mayor of the town from 1930 to 1934.

After leaving the observation tower behind us, we take a sharp left and continue along the path below the Kirchberg restaurant until we come to a stately villa. Here we first turn right and then left to the "Greims Wies'n", a sledging slope popular with young and old in winter. This offers another wonderful view of the church and the town. We follow the path to the left slightly downhill through Kirchbergweg to the road to Kleinschwarzenbach, very close to our starting point at the parking lot at the cemetery.
