We start the hike at the panorama board next to the small parking lot (with seating area) at the foot of the Radspitze near the Kneippanlage. From there, we take the forest path to the left, to the west, and once again enjoy the impressive view of Forstweg, impressive view of Seibelsdorf and the charming hedgerow landscape of the surrounding countryside. We always follow the same path in the forest in a wide right-arc upwards and change then with a height bend. We continue uphill, enjoying occasional narrow views or vistas and gradually reach the top. But before we do, we turn right onto a natural path and, keeping left, reach the Frankenweg on a forest path.
It leads us slightly uphill to the right to the 678 m high Radspitze with its rest area and viewing tower, which offers a sweeping view of the Obermainische Bruchschollenland. Information about the long history of this lookout tower of the FWV local group Seibelsdorf. Shortly before we reach the paragliders' launch site, where we are surprised by a fantastic view of the "picture-book landscape" and quickly forget the efforts of the long ascent. We soon reach the hamlet of Mittelberg , walking downhill on pleasant paths;with the "Seibelsdorf", which is run by the local group Radspitzalm" with its long and varied history. It is open every first Sunday of the month. On 1 May each year, the Mountain Festival is celebrated here.
Immediately opposite, a lovingly furnished restaurant was created from a cowshed. On the southwest slope, Schlossberg stood the former margravial castle, which was probably built in the 11th century. Century was built. It was destroyed in the disputes between the margrave and the Bamberger bishops. The Duke of Bavaria was also involved, who called for help from the Bohemians and had the castle destroyed. Today, only two clear indentations can be seen on the 150 m long mountain nose.
From the parking lot at the wanderheim, there are two ways to reach the parking lot at the panorama board again. We can follow the curvy, little-used road downhill without any markings. Or we can leave this road immediately after the the end of the village, keep right and follow the same path straight down the steep slope of the radspitze just before the parking lot back onto the road. This path offers an impressive view right at the beginning and leads past the nearby Schlossberg, where there is now a guesthouse. Now we have to follow Sträßlein for about 750 m downhill to Seibelsdorf.
The stately, two-storey rectory with its high pitched roof catches the eye. The portal is framed with steingurten framing, the upper storey is a half-timbered structure with Andreaskreuzen. The late-medieval, originally fortified church was repaired in the middle of the 17th century. Today's baroque church, which is well worth seeing, was built in three sections from 1735 to 1760. This hiking trail is recommended for those seeking the quiet seclusion of vast wooded areas.
