Description by the author

We start our circular walk in the center of the village with the hiking board, village fountain, village lime tree and peace oak and walk up the road towards Bobengrün. At the end of the village, we turn left at the sports home at the end of the gymnastics field and walk along the edge of the meadow until we reach the nearby tree- and shrub-lined field, which we follow uphill to the forest. The view becomes increasingly impressive when we reach the Culmitztal path at the top and turn left with it through a short section of forest and then along the edge of the forest to the field cross erected in 2007 and donated by an unknown donor. The cross and the wonderful view invite you to linger for a short, quiet moment.

If we walk another 100 meters or so along the edge of the forest, we leave the view and the Culmitztal path and walk slightly downhill on a natural forest path, cross the road to the houses of the scattered settlement of Froschbach straight ahead and follow the soft path along the edge of the forest to Waldeck. Here we should not miss out on the charming view of the scattered estates of Froschbach and Dürrnberg on the other side of the Froschbach valley.

We turn right into the forest and follow a pleasant path until we reach a road that leads us to the left to four more houses in Froschbach. This section of forest separates the two parts of the scattered settlement of Froschbach. Once again, there is a beautiful view of the estates located on a clearing island and across the Froschbach valley to the wooded slopes. The name of the settlement and that of the stream have nothing to do with frogs. The name is derived from the "Fraisch-Bach", the "border stream", which once separated estates a long time ago.

When we are just before Grubenberger Straße, we have to be careful: We must not enter the road, as this is where our circular route already leads "home" again. At best, we could use this point to halve the Grubenholz trail. We keep slightly to the right and walk across a small open area on a "real" forest path through the Grubenholz until we reach the Geroldsgrün-Straßdorf road in Grubenberg.

We cross the road diagonally to the left, follow the road just a few meters into the forest and then turn right. We only walk slightly uphill through the forest for a short time, then on a meadow path in a straight main direction over to the start of the Grubenberg cul-de-sac. It leads us through the long scattered settlement of Grubenberg. Wonderful views of the Franconian Forest to the west accompany us on this stretch of the trail.

After the end of the village, we turn right onto a forest path. Through younger trees, we briefly enter the forest again via an idyllic meadow and soon reach Geroldsgrüner Straße. We follow it only briefly to the right and immediately turn right again onto a field path and walk over a small hill to Göhren.

We turn left along the road at the village pond, come back to Geroldsgrüner Straße, follow it briefly to the left and then turn right onto a path. At the nearby fork, we walk straight ahead on the slope path through various sections of forest. After a longer stretch, we have to be careful not to miss the detour (just under 200 m) to the left to the Lippertsbach spring. Its water brings the Culmitz into the Selbitz and with the Selbitz it flows through the Höllental valley near Blankenstein into the Saale.

We come close to Geroldsgrüner Straße. However, we turn right and follow a pleasant, natural forest path fairly flat through the forest to the small parking lot on Grubenberger Straße, where our hiking routes almost meet. We stay on the road and pass two more Froschbach estates before reaching the forest. There we turn right and follow a natural forest path slightly uphill to the hill.

Here, too, we have to be careful if we don't want to miss the detour (approx. 100 m) to Lippertsgrün's local mountain, the 678 m high Eulenburg. It has nothing to do with owls either. It was probably a modest link in the system of "Eilen" and watchtowers that were erected in the margraviate "ob dem Gebürg" around 1500 for the safety of the inhabitants. More details can be found elsewhere. Our path now leads us downhill, first in the forest, then through the meadows - again with beautiful views - to the beginning of Lippertsgrün. The village road takes us slightly downhill back to our starting point in the center of the village.</p
