Tour zur Kur (HO 12)

Starting point: Bad Steben / train station (spa gardens, thermal baths, casino)

Route: From Bad Steben train station along the railroad line to Hölle (mineral springs, water adventure trail), past the quarry / hard stone works at the Höllental stop - via Marxgrün - on the cycle path with the course of the Selbitztal cycle path to Naila. Past the town park to the station, then follow the cycle path along the railroad tracks to Hofer Straße - cross this and follow the cycle path (old railroad line), past the Marmormühle mill, to the B173 - after passing the B173, continue on the cycle path into the Culmitzgrund. On meadow and field paths via Schottenhammer to Culmitzhammer - through Culmitz, past a geological outcrop worth seeing - then steadily uphill with wonderful views via Bärenhaus (Naturfreundehaus) , Poppengrün, Döbrastöcken to Kleindöbra (detour to Döbraberg) - to the highest point of the tour (Elbe / Rhine watershed) - Schwarzenbach a. Wald (indoor swimming pool, leisure facilities, mountain bike center) - through the village via the B 173, past Straßdorf - then on forest paths to Lippertsgrün - through the village over a ridge to Pechreuth (game reserve) - from here the forest path descends steadily through the idyllic Froschbachgrund down the stream to the Thierbach hiking parking lot - from Thierbach (watch out for traffic) via Schafhof back to Bad Steben/Bahnhof (spa gardens, thermal baths, casino). Connection option to the Euregio-Egrensis long-distance cycle route and Upper Franconia route "Through Bavaria's stone-rich corner".
