Daily stage from Kulmbach to Kronach

Route route: Kulmbach, Hotel Ert, Hardenbergstr. 3 – Untersteinach – Stadtsteinach – Unterrodach – Kronach (Ü), 32 km.


Details of the route: 
Start: Hotel Ertl“. From here, the tour follows the „Mainradweg“ (marked in red) towards the city center on Pestalozzistraße, then Kressenstein, past the Holzmarkt, past the central parking lot, then behind the Dr. Stammberger Halle through the Grünzug – always continue on the „Mainradweg“ üvia Kauerndorf to Untersteinach. In Untersteinach turn off towards Bahnhofplatz on the „Steinach – Rodach – Tour“ (KU1 / KU 3) to Ziegelhütte. Here you leave the cycle path and continue on the B303 to Satdtsteinach. When you enter Stadtsteinach, turn left to avoid the difficult ascent in Stadtsteinach.

Sights: Stadtsteinach local history museum, old cutting mill at the blast furnace, detour into the romantic Steinach valley with the Steinach gorge and the Nordeck castle ruins.

From Kronacher Straße, continue along the „Steinach – Rodach –Tour. Follow the cycle path to Marktrodach üvia the villages of Unterzaubach, Oberzaubach, Zettlitz, Rugendorf, Seibelsdorf, Waldbuch, Großvichtach, Marktrodach. After crossing the B 173 in Marktrodach, continue straight ahead and then turn left onto the main road to the Flößermuseum on the church square in Unterrodach.

From there, continue along the main road and from the end of the village take the cycle path via Höfles towards Kronach. Shortly before Kronach, in the district of Ruppen, take a short left towards Vogtendorf and then immediately right again into Industriestraße, which you follow to the end. After crossing the B 173, briefly follow the Hammersteig. Then turn left until you reach Kulmbacher Straße. Turn left here. Next turn right into Paul-Keller-Straße to the Hotel Försterhof. Paul-Keller-Str. 3.

Sights worth seeing in Kronach: Rosenberg Fortress, one of the largest fortifications in Germany, with the Franconian Gallery (painting gallery, among others. with works by the painter Lucas Cranach), exhibition "Fortresses - Franconia's Bulwarks" at Rosenberg Fortress, medieval townscape, Catholic parish church in the upper town, numerous event highlights such as the Kronach Faust Festival, Kronacher Freischießen, Kronach leuchtet (for dates see www.kronach.de).
