Frankenwald cycle tour

Discover the Franconian Forest by bike. On 7 daily stages you will get wonderful impressions of the nature and culture of our low mountain range landscape. You will spend the night in cyclist-friendly hotels, inns and, in some cases, private guesthouses. The tours are between 25 and 55 km long and leave enough time for short breaks and sightseeing along the way. Explore the beer town of Kulmbach with the Bavarian Brewery Museum and Plassenburg Castle, which towers high above the town. Follow in the footsteps of the painter Lucas Cranach in the medieval town of Kronach and cycle along the legendary Rennsteig mountain trail. In Bad Steben, we recommend a visit to the thermal baths with sauna area. And don't miss out on sampling our regional Franconian Forest cuisine!

Programme: Day 1: Individual arrival in the "beer town" of Kulmbach. Check in at the booked hotel. Free time at leisure. Stroll through Kulmbach's old town and enjoy the Franconian flair. Overnight stay.

Day 2: Stage for the day from Kulmbach to Kronach. Route: Kulmbach - Untersteinach - Stadtsteinach - Unterrodach - Kronach (overnight), 32 km.

Day 3: Stage for the day from Kronach to Neukenroth. Route: Kronach - Küps-Tüschnitz - Mitwitz - Glosberg - Neukenroth (overnight stay), 36 km.

Day 4: Stage for the day from Neukenroth to Steinbach a. Wald. Route: Neukenroth - Heinersdorf - Kleintettau - Rennsteig - Steinbach a. Wald (overnight stay), 30 km.

Day 5: Stage for the day from Steinbach a. Wald to Steinwiesen. Route: Steinbach a. Wald - Lehesten - Rodacherbrunn - Nordhalben - Ködeltalsperre - Steinwiesen (overnight stay), 40 km.

Day 6: Stage for the day from Steinwiesen to Bad Steben. Route: Steinwiesen - Geroldsgrün - Bobengrün - Bad Steben (overnight stay), 25 km.

Day 7: Stage for the day from Bad Steben to Marktleugast-Hermes Route: Bad Steben - Höllental - Naila - Selbitz - Helmbrechts - Hohenberg - Marktleugast - Marienweiher - Marktleugast-Hermes (overnight stay), 55 km.

Day 8: Stage for the day from Marktleugast-Hermes to Kulmbach: route Marktleugast-Hermes - Kupferberg - Wirsberg - Neuenmarkt - Kulmbach, 25 km. Departure. If desired, an extra night can also be booked at the last overnight stop!

Starting points of the tour: The tour begins and ends as described in Kulmbach. Kronach can also be selected as the start and end point on request.
