Short description:Tour with the most vertical meters, numerous viewpoints, many good single trails and trails, peppered with crisp climbs and rapid descents. Forests and open spaces, ridges and valleys are constantly changing. The tour can be shortened shortly after Wolfersgrün. Signposting on site: MTB 4

Condition of the route: 75% forest road, 20% trail, 5% asphalt.

Demand: Difficult fitness level, medium riding technique.

Course of the route: The first climb awaits shortly after the Leutnitztal hiking parking lot. The gravel road quickly turns into a beautiful trail with spectacular views. As you continue, the surface changes back to gravel - sometimes flat, sometimes rougher. Halfway up, the following descent turns into a forest path parallel to the slope, which soon becomes the next ascent. As soon as we reach the top, a rapid descent into the beautiful "Leutnitz Valley" awaits us, which we follow upstream. For the first part of the next ascent, you have a choice: difficult single trail or easy forest path. When the two options meet, the route continues on a fairly steep trail, at least for the first few meters. At the end of this section, there is a gravel forest path with constant changes of direction, but without any major differences in altitude. The following short but steep ascent from Schindelthal leads partly over exposed rock. The route over the next few kilometers is characterized by a constant alternation of short climbs and descents. When you reach Schlegelshaid, turn right at the entrance to the village and leave the village again. A very short trail section and a gravel forest path afterwards take us to Wolfersgrün. After leaving the village, the next trail section has to be mastered. The subsequent relaxation, first on asphalt, then on gravel (shortcut: another 50 m straight on asphalt, then right on forest path) downhill, does not last long: a partly steep ascent follows. The reward is a long singletrail descent, interrupted only briefly by a gravel section. There is a small pond in the valley, next to the "Max-Marien-Brunnen", where you can replenish your supply of drinks with extremely healthy spring water. The next ascent follows the "Langenaubach" up the valley. This is immediately followed by a descent on gravel, which ends in the "Lamitztal" valley, which we follow briefly before tackling another ascent. The following section is relatively flat and ends with a wonderful trail/single trail descent from Wellesberg to Wellesbach. The next ascent is also a narrow, sometimes steep singletrail that demands everything. At the top, it turns into a forest path. On the following descent on a wide forest road, you should make a detour to the chapel at the side of the path: a beautifully restored building with a view of the "Wild Rodach" valley. We reach Wallenfels and immediately leave the village again to stay halfway up the slope. After reaching the village for the second time, the final ascent follows. Finally, a beautiful descent that ends at a fishing pond in the "Wilde Leutnitz" valley and takes us down the valley back to the starting point.
