Description: Starting from the Hotel Sonne, you cycle through the Flora-Westfalica Park to Wiedenbrück, which impresses with its artistically decorated half-timbered houses. Behind these magnificent doors, life pulsates: Cozy cafés and restaurants invite you to linger. Continuing along the Ems to Rietberg, you will find many lovingly restored half-timbered monuments. The historic town hall is considered one of the most beautiful in Westphalia. You proceed past the Garden Exhibition Park Rietberg to Neuenkirchen, where you will find St. Margareta Parish Church, the oldest parish of the former County of Rietberg. Finally, you reach the Benedictine Abbey Varensell. The route then leads to Gütersloh, over the bubbling Ölbach with the listed Delker Watermill. You pass through the settlement of Determeyer and come to the Spexarder Bauhaus from the 16th century, the oldest house in Gütersloh. In the city center, you witness historically significant architecture at the half-timbered ensemble around the Apostle Church at the Old Church Square. A detour to the city museum with its unique museum café is also worthwhile.
