We did this nature trail on 10/07/2025 (15,115 steps).
Officially, it is called "Rundwanderweg des Naturpark Südeifel Nr. 35 - Gemünd-Dauwelshausen". We renamed it to a silent walk. Throughout the entire route, it was just the three of us on our way. There were no other walkers or cyclists visible anywhere. The ideal walk for those who want to enjoy nature in peace. Some paths are not very well maintained, but that makes the nature feeling even more intense. The route is marked with number 35. There are quite a few markers missing. It’s best to take something along for navigation.
Free parking is available on Hofstraße in Dauwelshausen. From there, it goes downhill to the valley of the Irsen, which you follow until the border village of Gemünd by the Our. From there, you ascend again with a steep climb, mostly on a fully paved path, back to Dauwelshausen. Beautiful views guaranteed!
