From the wine village of Walporzheim in the Ahr Valley, at the hikers' car park at the end of Josefstraße, you first cycle through Ahrweiler, a town with a historic centre. Then we went on a hilly drive through the so-called Eastern Eifel (the eastern part of the Eifel). You will then have the following climbs:
- Königsfeld (gradual ascent: 8 km long, 257 vertical meters)
- To the American (again a gradual climb: 8 km long, 300 meters of elevation gain)
- Steinbergerhof (6 km long, of which the last kilometer is clearly steep (up to 17%))
- Kirchesch (2.5 km long, 182 metres in altitude)
- Waldesch (a beautiful climb, 3 km long, 235 meters in altitude). Before starting the climb, you will make a detour of 100 meters to see the beautiful Bürresheim Castle.
- Raßberg: 1.9 km ascent with an average of 6% and the summit at 640 meters altitude.
- Bockshahn (a somewhat irregular climb with a steep part in the middle of the Kempenich)
- Blasweiler (3.5 km long and 141 metres in altitude)
- Ramersbach (1.5 km long gradual ascent).
The ride ends with a 7.5-kilometer descent where you descend 325 meters. Finally, it is a few kilometers through Ahrweiler back to the starting point.
