This route is varied: the western side of the route leads through the foothills of the Black Forest and through vineyards, past castles / castle ruins.
You will pass the city of Baden-Baden, formerly the place for the jet set to celebrate your holiday. After Baden-Baden (through the park on Lichtentaler Allee) it goes deeper into the Black Forest in the direction of Murg. Finally, it goes back down into the Rhine Valley (via the steep descent of the Hornisgrinde via Sasbachwalden).
The start and finish point of this route is Sasbachwalden, but other beautiful starting points are also for example Lauf, Neuweier or Varnhalt.

The following climbs run along the route (clockwise):

- Murberg (i.e. a steep climb from Sasbaschwalden)
- Waldmatt (Windeck Castle)
- Klotzbergstraße
- Room space
- Yberg (the climb is a dead end, so the last 1.5 km of the climb must also be descended again).
- Red pool over the forest path along the Scherrhof (to bypass the main road). I myself have never driven this forest road, but in the comment to quaeldich.de at the Rote Lache it is mentioned that it is a completely paved road.
- Hundseck.

The busy Varnhalt - Baden-Baden road (L84a) is bypassed by taking the exposed cycle path from Nellenbergstraße towards the golf course (although several sources state that it is a paved cycle path, I have never tried the cycle path myself).

Between Forbach and Raumünzach, the well-paved Murg Valley Cycle Path is taken to avoid the busy main road in the Murg Valley.
