Description by the author

This route is sure of all the Eifel tours with the most forests. With every season the wide range of colors changes from moist and trouser forests of this highest forest in the Naturpark Nordeifel. It goes almost flat through the source areas of the Alfbach, which is fed by thousands of streams, moors and ponds. To protect flora and fauna, the road leads to particularly sensitive areas on narrow, boarded paths. Here you can discover rare plants such as common heather or forest-cartel leaf.
About half of the route, the forest opens to the magnificent "Three-Country View". Here a platform invites you to take a break and, in good weather, offers a unique view to the hill edges of Islek, Ösling and the Hoge Ven.
