Around Lake Starnberg

As of Sept. 2020: Very scenic day tour with 4 short climbs: (1)-Wilhelmshöhe, (2)-Kempfenhausen, (3)-Berg, (4)- Bernried.

This unique tour runs almost exclusively along the lakeshore. The route leads through various nature and landscape conservation areas. Many benches are placed on the lakeshore and invite you to linger. The Karwendel and the Zugspitze can be seen from many places.
Fischer Sebald's orchard in Ammerland is a paradise for cyclists. The fresh fish comes directly from the lake to the table - Monday off. The Buchheim Museum in Bernried is worth a stop.

Other highlights on the west bank are the Karpfenwinkel just before Unterzeismering, Bernrieder Park, Kustermann Park with the Brahms promenade and the beer garden at Häring in Tutzing, the Sissi Castle with the Rose Island in Feldafing and the Lake Starnberg Museum in Starnberg.

Other highlights on the east bank are the castle, the stables, the votive chapel with the cross of King Ludwig II. The Ambach recreation area is ideal for swimming, sunbathing and kite surfing. The footbridge in St. Heinrich at the "Kleines Seehaus" is legendary for its view of the Zugspitze.
