Rhine-Goldbogen Hike

The hike has its own charm. The rustic route with its narrow path makes the Elfenlay dream circuit unique. In addition, there is a view of the Rhine loop and the view of the Hubertus Viaduct. I ran two dream loops at Boppard within a week and both hikes are very different. I liked the walk. The hike is highly recommended in summer and autumn when the leaves change color. If you were to ask me which dream run I would prefer in Boppard, I would recommend the "Rheingold Dream Run".
 

Stroll along the Rheingoldbogen in the footsteps of the Romans and viticulture; through a varied landscape, past cultivated vines and untouched hedgerows on the Rhine plateau with a fantastic view of the Rhine Valley and the Rhine loop on the Rhine.

From the starting point at the Brey cemetery, the path leads quickly into the forest. Here, shafts give a clear picture of ancient aqueducts built by the Romans. On the sports field of Brey, a narrow path leads steeply up to a refuge with a great view of the Rhine Valley. The route continues on gentle forest paths into the Rhine plateau. Inconspicuous heights in the forest hide a stately burial mound. The path runs in an arc around this area and reaches the former Jesuit monastery of Jakobsberg, which is now used as a hotel with a golf course.

Hiking trails through the forest lead to Peternach. The dream trail reaches the vineyards with the famous sights of the Boppard Hamm. Here you can enjoy a panoramic view of the largest bend in the Rhine with a view of Boppard, Filsen and Osterspai. Accompanied by dense hedges, the path turns its back on the Rhine Valley. The flat plateau offers a phenomenal view of the Marksburg in Braubach, which seems within reach. The meadow path reaches the Chapel of the Mother of God via an open field. The path now leads down the valley and leads down an idyllic meadow path to the starting point of Brey.
