The Schinveld forests are very beautiful due to the openness and the many ponds or lakes. Because of the former gravel pit that was located here, there are significant height differences and the groundwater level has created many ponds. Relaxation here is very easy, and several birdwatching stations have been set up. Many animal species, including a wealth of waterfowl, can be seen here.
