History Stations Dorsten Hervest and Holsterhausen

In front of the main entrance of the city administration at Halterner Straße No. 5, you will find the
Historical Station 16 City of Dorsten.

Here we begin and head along Bismarckstraße towards Wulfen. After the roundabout, turn left at the first traffic light and continue on Bismarckstraße until you turn right into Marienstraße. There you will find on the left side "An der Marienkirche" the
Historical Station 29 Marienviertel.

Continue on Marienstraße and turn left into Luner Weg. Under the railway lines Dorsten-Coesfeld and Essen-Borken, continue straight through the next two roundabouts and turn right onto the railing of the Fürst Leopold mine. In the listed buildings of the Creativ-Quartier Fürst Leopold, there are various gastronomic offers.
Further along to the former main entrance of the Fürst Leopold shaft, you will find next to the gatehouse the
Historical Station 10 Fürst Leopold.

After crossing Halterner Straße, you will enter the miners' settlement Hervest-Dorsten on Schachtstraße. Turn left at the first cross street onto Burgsdorffstraße until you reach Brunnenstraße. This will lead you to the
Historical Station 24 Miners' Settlement at Brunnenplatz.

You continue right along Burgsdorffstraße to a newly designed cycle and footpath that leads to the Lippe River on the old harbor railway line. Turn left over Lippedamm; at the end, you will reach Glück-Auf-Straße and further to the right to the core of the old village of Hervest, and at Dorfstraße, by the church wall, the
Historical Station 41 St. Paulus.

The village center of Hervest also invites you to stay with its inns and beautiful beer gardens.

Heading back to the village center, turn right onto Petrusstraße and reach Glück-Auf-Straße, which continues as Orthöve. Passing a small chapel, you will take a path left behind a riding stable across Halterner Straße and further onto Brauckweg. Follow this left past marshy meadows with stork nests and ancient cattle. As you travel through the nature reserve Hervester Bruch, you will find viewpoints with extensive explanations.

Cross Hervester Straße and turn left onto the old Hervester Straße, then left at the end into Wedehof. Always straight ahead… Wedehof becomes Gälkenheide and merges onto Bismarckstraße where you cycle left to Heinrichsstraße.

Then your route takes you through the miners' settlement Holsterhausen, right into Luisenstraße until Dunkenbre street. Here, turn right, and at the next opportunity again left until Tüshausweg. In the forest, opposite the forest cemetery, you will find the
Historical Station 12 Forced Laborers in front of the Russian cemetery.

Then ride on the road/path "Am Waltfriehof" and cross the federal road 224. At the sandstone factory, continue to Stillen Weg, where you turn left. On Wulfender Landweg, you will reach the main road, 100m further to the left onto the street Zum Aap and thus to
Historical Station 38 Holsterhausen.

Continuing south on the road Zum Aap brings you directly to the cycle path Römerroute on the abandoned and dismantled railway line Veno (NL) Hamburg of the Cologne-Minden Railway Company. Here, on the northern edge of the excavation site, the
Historical Station 34 Roman Camp was opened on 7.5.2010.

Heading east, you will follow this cycle path Römerroute to Baldurstraße, where you will turn right until you reach the
Historical Station 14 Zeche Baldur established in front of the company Nagel.

Continuing along Baldurstraße, turn left before the Hambach Bridge and then after about 150m again turn right onto the Römerroute and follow it until you reach Hervest-Dorsten station or the parking lot in front of it.
