Pilgrimage Netherlands Częstochowa (Poland) Day 9

You are now heading in the direction of the Brandenburg Republic. Since the original route was partly on forest paths, I had it recalculated by Routeyou. The result is that you will be on the road 6 km longer, but that your bike will remain whole. The campsite is pretty good. The café is crowded and at night this is clearly noticeable

In the Netherlands, the cycling routes found are of good quality. In Germany and Poland, the tour leads along farm roads and cycle paths. The cycle paths are often nothing more than a gravel path. Forest paths are not avoided either. A bike that can take a beating is highly desirable. A solid randonneur will suffice, but for this route, an MTB is actually the best.

On August 15, the Assumption of Mary is celebrated exuberantly. Try to be in Częstochowa a few days before this date. You will be amazed at the thousands of pilgrims who sing and make music there so as not to miss the solemn Eucharist.

To a limited extent, the tour does not demand much from the cyclist, apart from the sometimes bad paths.

Where the bike lanes run through the city, it is advisable to simply stay on the roadway, as the city often goes from sidewalk to sidewalk.
