Ruhrhaldenweg, Stage 06: Orsoy - Walsum

The Ruhrhaldenweg is a 580 km long long-distance hiking trail that connects the territories, garden districts, and former coal mines of the Ruhr metropolis. A chain of footpaths, towing paths, small and large roads, upgraded railway tracks, and terrace paths leads you through the entire Ruhr area, from Moers and Duisburg in the west to Dortmund and Bergkamen in the east.
This sixth stage starts at the idyllic banks of the Rhine with its beaches in the historic town of Orsoy and then takes the ferry to the right bank of the Rhine. You will then walk along the Rijndijk to Alt-Walsum, which looks like a village for a moment, and through the cemetery and a forest to the rather uninspiring center of Walsum.
