Hundevad Lake
Along the road down to the lake, a few islands of lime have been planted. On the left side, some 130-year-old noble firs can be seen in winter, remnants of the previous vegetation. On the east side of the lake, there are copper beech trees.
Cembra Pine
In the road triangle northwest of Hundvad Lake, there is a rare growth of cembra pine. It originates from the Alps and has 5 needles in each needle bundle, unlike other Danish pines, which only have 2 needles in each bundle. Here you may be lucky enough to experience the hazel dormouse, as its favorite food is the seed from this tree species.
Højbjerg Plateau
East of the road are the largest thuja trees in the forest, planted in 1909. Højbjerg Slope was covered with large old beech trees until 1967. In a single night, a storm toppled the entire vegetation, which was later replanted with noble fir and silver fir. The large root rakes (root cakes) can still be seen on the ground under these fir trees.
West of the old woodshed, the route leads through the cold corner of the forest facing north, as Højbjerg Slope blocks the sun from the south.
Eilers Oak
Eilers Oak is an American red oak. Here lies the terminus for the tram museum's museum line. It is from here that it is possible to travel to Skjoldenæsholm by tram on certain days - see the signage for when it is open.
