DESCRIPTION
"It is the summit temple of Latin American Baroque. Overwhelm the beauty and splendor of the temple in its unique atmosphere of gold leaf in the pillars, vaults and domes; Its baroque façade is a work of art in Andean stone. The main altarpiece, gilded by Bernardo de Legarda, contains the sculptures of the four religious communities that evangelized Quito." (Quito Ecuador, official travel guide, 2016)

PECULIARITIES
- It is considered to be the masterpiece of the artists belonging to the Quito School, due to the evident use of the characteristic seal of this artistic manifestation, the gold leaf (technique in which the structures were covered with gold sheets).
