River Pärnu, being 144 km long, is the second longest river in Estonia.
It is generally a slow river that is also suitable for traveling with children. Current if faster during high waters in spring and autumn. In other times, the flow is faster on smaller rapids, old mill dams or their remnants.
By its size and water volume, River Pärnu is easily passable in summer, when the water level gets lower (except for the beginning and some exceptional sections that become rockier and full of plants when the water level drops).
