At Hotel Parador de Gredos, José Antonio Primo de Rivera planned a military coup in 1935. His everlasting love, Pilar Azlor de Aragon, spent her wedding night at this hotel around the same time, but with another man. José Antonio Primo de Rivera was later arrested and a year later the Spanish Civil War began. José Antonio Primo de Rivera was executed in Alicante on November 18, 1936. He lies alongside Franco in Valle de Los Caídos.
