Bellver de Cerdaña

Bellver de Cerdaña is a Spanish municipality located in the province of Lleida, autonomous community of Catalonia, in the comarca of Baixa Cerdaña. Until the mid-20th century, it was known as Bellver.

The municipality is a conglomerate of different villages, isolated farmhouses, and diverse neighborhoods that make up one of the largest municipalities in the comarca. Bellver is the main center of the subcomarca of Batllia, situated to the southwest of Cerdaña, and it also includes the municipalities of Prulláns and Riu. This southern portion of the comarca is also called Little Cerdaña by its inhabitants. Administratively, it belongs to the province of Lleida, although its historical and geographical facts closely link it with Puigcerdà, the capital of the comarca, with Seo de Urgel, and with Ripoll and Vich, beyond the Collada de Tosas. Bellver is located halfway between Puigcerdà and Seo de Urgel.
