San Pedro de Torelló[1] is a Spanish municipality. It belongs to the comarca of Osona, in the province of Barcelona, in the subcomarca of the Vall del Ges, on the border with those of Ripollés and La Garrocha. It also includes the small nucleus of Sant Andreu de la Vola.
On September 3, 2012, the San Pedro city council approved a motion in favor of the independence of Catalonia, proclaiming itself "Free Catalan Territory".[2][3][4][5][6][7][8] The objective of this act was to urge the Government and Parliament of Catalonia to assume national sovereignty over the Catalan territory.[9] The full city council decided that "the legislation and regulations of Spanish scope will be in force provisionally, pending the Parliament enacting new Catalan laws".[10]
