La Concordia Society

Sociedad la Concordia is a building in the municipality of Escobar included in the Inventory of the Architectural Heritage of Catalonia.
Building located in the center of town, a few meters from the parish church. It is a building with a single nave at double height, rectangular and large dimensions. It is juxtaposed with another building, also rectangular, used as a cinema. The predominant schemes are common to those to which Azemar applied similar buildings of Solivella and Maçanet de Rosanes. The roof is on two sides. As is typical of its author, the architecture of Concord is characterized by a simple syntax of elements and an almost total lack of ornaments. These are limited to underlining doors and windows. Thus the brick seen in the separation strips of the different spaces of the facades and the moderate use of ceramics become the only materials that articulate the façade. The hint of the features that define Noucentista architecture is quite evident throughout the construction.
