The Sagrada Família (Holy Family), or, to give it its full name, Templo Expiatorio de la Sagrada Família, is a church in the Spanish city of Barcelona.
In Castilian, it is written 'Familia', without accents. In Catalan, currently the primary language in Barcelona, it is 'Família', with an accent on the first i.
The church has been under construction since 1882. During and after the Spanish Civil War, the construction was stalled for a few years. The current official completion date is in 2026, but whether this will be met is still uncertain. The speed at which the construction progresses largely depends on the amount of donations that tourists bring in. The works have been ongoing for so long that the completed sections have already been affected and need to be renovated.
