Treasury Mairena
Gold and Silver, casting, forging, stamping and laminating.
Century BC
Source
Mairena del Alcor, Seville.
Set includes 13 pieces: 1 torques, 2 bracelets, 1 headband, 1 fibula, 1 belt, 1 bracelet, 1 ring, 2 pendants and 3 cups of silver. It ignores the context in which it was found, although it was probably hidden during the second half of the III a. C., at a time of instability associated with either the Carthaginian conquest, or of the second war between Romans and Carthaginians. Even as local production, technique and decoration combine elements of central European influence 'hallstatica' and Mediterranean 'Hellenistic Greek East. "
