The ruins of the Can Bassoles farmhouse (Can Passoles according to the consulted cartography) are located in the Vall de la Sentiu. In the medieval period, it was known as Mas de Fonts Noves, due to a small spring that was a few meters below where the building is located. As early as 1553, references appear regarding the owner of this farmhouse, Joan Serra of the Mas de Fontnovas, with the house belonging to the Serra family until around 1700. At that time, Isabel Serra married Marian Bassoles, taking the name of the new head of the family. In some of its walls, pieces of Opus Spicatum can be seen, a construction in the shape of a fish spine.
