The church was built during the second half of the 11th century (definitely mentioned in a document in 1100) by the banks of the Ter River, right below the peninsula occupied by the monastery of Sant Pere de Casserres, but on the left bank, in an appendage of the municipality of Santa Maria de Corcó (Osona). Sant Vicenç was built to serve the parishioners of the parish that had existed at the castle of Casserres, when it became the new monastery of Sant Pere and the existing church became monastic.
When the Sau dam was built in 1962, the church, turned into a storage facility for the mas Verders, was submerged under the waters. At the end of 1973 and the beginning of 1974, taking advantage of the low water level of the reservoir, it was dismantled brick by brick and rebuilt behind the Can Deu farmhouse (Sabadell), as we see it today.
