It was built on the site of the old comedy corral of the seventeenth century that was demolished in 1892. On its land this theater was built in 1912, which would later be called Teatro Mariana, in honor of the historian Talaverano father Juan de Mariana.Highlights on its façade ceramics, the work of Juan Ruiz de Luna, with allegories of music and theater, portraits of playwrights and musicians, and names of zarzuelas. The façade of three heights and symmetrical composition is a meticulous combination of modernist architecture, in which the historiated metal balconies, the iron sconces and the tiles stand out. Its interior has a plaster decoration, with locksmith balustrades and metal pillars. It was again acquired by the city council and restored in 1991.
