The one of St. Quirze de Colera was one of the first Benedictine monasteries to be built in the Pyrenees, its consecration dates from the year 935.
The history of this pre-Romanesque monastery is combulsa, its location has made it prey to border battles, looting and change of area of political and territorial influence, until it was even auctioned after the confiscation of Mendizábal in 1836. In 1994 the owner family sold this jewel to the municipality of Rabós for a symbolic price of € 1000.
"Its church is restored and consists of a plant of three naves that form the building, with barrel vault the central nave and quarter barrel the sides, all reinforced with arches that start from cruciform pillars. The head retains three semicircular apses, the central one with ornamentation of a frieze of arquillos.
It has three doors, two on the north and west facades and the one on the south wall that leads to the cloister, of which the west gallery with four mullioned windows is preserved. The western façade was rebuilt in the twelfth century.
From the fortification a defense tower and remains of the wall are preserved."
