The Castle of Miravet is a building located in the municipality of Miravet. Situated at the top of a hill about 100 meters high, the castle is considered one of the best examples of Templar military architecture in Catalonia. It has been a cultural asset since 1988.[1]
The castle’s courtyard is divided into two large enclosures: the jussà, an Andalusian walled enclosure distributed in three stepped levels, over twelve thousand square meters; and the sovereign enclosure, about 2500 m², formed by a polygonal structure with five towers, buttresses, and an inner courtyard, around which the facilities are arranged following the typical Cistercian monastery floor plan, adapted for basic military functions.
