Berga is connected to the Castle of Montségur in Ariège, France via the Camí dels Bons Homes. The Cathars, or Bonhommes, rejected materialism and feudalism in the Middle Ages. Because of their critical attitude, controversy arose with the Catholic Church, resulting in crusades and inquisition. The tourist route follows the migration paths used by the Cathars when they fled. The unique 'Camí dels Bons Homes' crosses the Pyrenees, thereby linking the Queral Sanctuary in the town of Berga with the Castle of Montségur in Ariège, France. Explore the route from May to October on foot, by mountain bike, or on horseback. If you take the route, be sure to stop at Molí del Salt, the waterfall that plunges more than 80 meters down, and enjoy a picnic in a beautiful, unspoiled setting. Be sure to also view the waterfall while walking behind it.
