Mount Kalamua, also known as Max or Maaxa, has an altitude of 770.30 meters above sea level and is located at the border of the province of Biscay with Guipúzkoa, in the Basque Country. At its summit, the municipalities of Marquina and Echevarría and Elgóibar of Guipúzkoa converge, and it is the watershed of the Deva and Artibai rivers. It belongs to the mountain system of the Basque Mountains.
