Calella is a railway station owned by ADIF located in the town of Calella in the Maresme comarca. The station is on the Barcelona-Mataró-Maçanet line where trains of the R1 and RG1 commuter lines of Rodalies de Catalunya operated by Renfe Operadora run.
This station on the Mataró line entered service in 1859 with the extension of the Mataró line from Arenys de Mar to Tordera. It was the second expansion of the railway from Barcelona to Mataró, the first railway line in the Iberian Peninsula, built in 1848. The initiative for the construction of the railway had been taken by Miquel Biada i Bunyol to carry out the multiple commercial relations that were established between Mataró and Barcelona.
